SUPER STOCK CAR: This car is for racers between 10 and 17 years of age. SUPER STOCK CARS can accomodate a driver who is approximately 6'0" tall and 150 lbs. A SUPER STOCK CAR can be assembled in about 4 to 6 hours.
MASTERS CAR: This car is for racers 10 to 17 years of age and is usually driven by more experienced drivers because it is harder to construct and takes more time and effort. It can be driven by a driver approximately 6'0" tall and 160 lbs. In this design the driver lays down on his/her back.
If you need help with this information, please contact us. In addition to obtaining a kit you must also race on Z-glas racing wheels. All kits and wheels must be purchased through the All-American Soap Box Derby. You may also want to look for a sponsor to help cover the cost of your racer. Many racers are sponsored by local businesses.
Next:
Read the official plans carefully and build your car exactly as the instructions indicate. We can help you understand the rules and guide you in building a safe and competitive car.
Finally:Let's Go racing!
Race your car in our local race and in regional rallies.
Of course you will want to enter the Columbus Soap Box Derby and race against others in the Central Ohio area. The winner of each class earns the right to represent Columbus, Ohio as a Local Champion in the All-American Soap Box Derby in July.
In addition, you are encouraged to participate in the Rally Program. Rally racing takes place nearly every weekend in various cities around the country. As you race in each Rally you'll gain valuable experience plus make new friends and have fun! Points are awarded for 1st through 8th places and if you are a point leader in your region you will qualify as a Rally Champion to race in the All-American Soap Box Derby in Akron, Ohio in July.
With each trip down the hill you'll gain valuable experience, build the bond between driver and parent/guardian and make new friends along the way.
