Columbus Soap Box Derby  

Derby Fools Day Fun Run:

Saturday, April 3rd, 2010

Big Run Park: Gates open at 8:30 a.m. Bring your own Soap Box Derby racer and run all day for just $15 per car.  We'll have all day testing with timers and a return trailer. But you must be responsible for loading and unloading your racer on and off of our trailers.

Children must be at least 8 years old and have a waiver form signed by their parent. To test drive a Soap Box Derby racer the fee is $5 for two runs down the hill but all Scouts will be admitted for free.

Big Run Park is located at 4205 Clime Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43228.

From I-270 in the southwest quadrant of Columbus, go north on Georgesville Rd. and turn RIGHT on Clime Rd. at the   "Flower Factory". Proceed east on Clime about 1/4 mile where you will enter the park. Follow the park road as far as you can and you will find the Derby Hill.

Columbus Spring Rally:

Saturday, April 10th & Sunday, April 11th.

Two races per day in all 3 divisions. Four point rally. $35 per car per race. Families with more than 1 car pay just $30 for additional one.

Columbus Local Race:

Saturday, June 19th.

This race will establish the local Champions who will travel to Akron and represent Central Ohio in the World Championships.

Inspection and trial runs will be held on June 12th with times to be announced. Entry fee is $45/car and must be paid no later than the day of inspection.

Columbus Super Kids Classic:

Sunday, June 20th.

We are looking for Special Needs Children between the ages of 8 and 18 to participate in our annual Super Kids race on Sunday, June 20, 2010 at Big Run Park. Please help us to find special needs children who would like to drive a specially built dual control race car and compete against other children to win a trip to Akron, Ohio to compete in the National Super Kids Classic at Derby Downs.

Columbus Fall Rally:

Saturday, September 18th and Sunday, September 19th.

Four point rally: 2 races/day in all 3 divisions. $35/car with just $30 for each additional car in the family that registers to race.
