Columbus Soap Box Derby  

The Soap Box Derby is a youth racing program open to any child between the ages of 8 and 17. Children compete in three levels of gravity powered racing cars built from kits purchased from the All-American Soap Box Derby.You can find complete rules by visiting: www.aasbd.org .

Attend our Derby Fools Day Fun Run!

Come out to Big Run Park on April 3rd and test drive a Soap Box Derby racer!

Experienced racers can run all day for just $15 . We'll have timers set up and a return trailer and you can test various set ups to determine which one is best for you.

If you've never raced before come join us anyway! We'll have loaner cars available and as long as you're at least 8 years old [with Mom or Dad's consent] we'll give you 2 runs down the hill for just 5 bucks. All Scouts who attend will get a test drive for free!

Are you a Cub Scout or are you a "Pinewood Derby Nut"?

Then you'll want to enter our first annual Columbus Pinewood Derby Invitational event! It will be held on Saturday, April 3rd at the shelter house at Big Run Park. Bring your Pinewood Derby racer to Big Run Park and enter to win some fabulous trophies.

While you're at the event we'll shuttle you over to our Soap Box Derby hill and you'll be able to test drive a Soap Box Derby racer and experience the thrill of the hill!

It will be a funfilled day you won't want to miss.
